Beau Davis

Beau Davis - tuck knee, 2008

I shoot a lot of skate photos that I sit on for a while, waiting to see if I can get them into Arkade, or Slug, or run for an ad or something.  Sometimes they never go anywhere and end up lost in the archive having never been seen by more than a few people.
This is one of those photos.  At the time I was shooting a few photos for Technique ads.  This one never ran anywhere.  The footage is in the Technique vid from 2008.  Beau kills it.

More lost photos to come...

I have familiarized myself with the crazy strict guidelines of passport photo requirements.  Too bad they require a color photo.  It just isn't quite so "Avedon", you know.

Peter Raffin, San Jose, CA

This skatepark was in San Jose, CA.  Tilt Mode guys session it regularly.  It was a fun park.  It had this garden that surrounded it on two sides that made it feel like  you were out in the country skating.
That is Peter Raffin in the background about to land a back noseblunt down the skinny hubba second try.

Colt Bowden x SLUG Magazine

The new issue of SLUG Magazine drops tomorrow, however, you can check it online right now
Colt Bowden has an interview of sorts, and I have a few photos in the interview.  If you are very easily offended... just look at the pictures (and don't read the captions).  Chris Swainston has some good photos in it too.  Pick up a copy, why don't you.

Devin York

Five O.

We shot this over a year ago.  I sat on it for quite a while, and this month it was published as a double page spread in the new issue of Arkade Magazine.  You can pick up an issue in most Utah skate/snow shops.  Mike Murdock also has some rad photos and an interview.

Great West Conference Basketball Tournament

Utah Valley University is hosting the Great West Conference Basketball Tournament this year.  I have been working on an ad campaign with the UVU Athletics Marketing Dept. over the last couple months, and we are finally seeing our hard work in print.
Much thanks to graphic designer Brad Trinnaman.  Brad has done everything from brainstorm the ad concept, to location scouting and assisting me on the shoots, to brainstorming copy, to designing a conference tournament logo (not pictured).  He did all the design on the billboards and the fold-out double page ad that will run in the upcoming UVU Magazine.
If you are near the University Mall in Orem, take a look at the rotating billboards on the main sign.  There is a different image on each side.   The billboards will run until mid-March.
Here's Brad from our location scout... we were hoping for a sunny shoot, but you take what you can get in November.
