More Moving Landscapes from Interstate 80

The Sierra Nevadas are an amazing range of mountains. I was in awe of the giant boulders and the sheer magnitude of the mountains.
All shots taken from the moving car, except the first one, which was shot from the car on the freeway, but the car was stopped in construction.

These are shots taken at skate spots, while out shooting skateboarding...but not shots of skateboarding. You follow?

This is the west side of Utah lake...this was shot from my work, which is located on University Parkway, at UVU. That is what a 500mm lens on a 1.5x chip conversion factor will get you. It turns the lens into a 750mm f8. That vignette is all from the lens. It is basically a telescope mounted to a camera body.

Utah County in the Fall

Last week for work I had to run around Utah County shooting a bunch of Ut. Co. landmarks and touristy locations for a UVU Book that our department is creating. I decided to make the most of a pretty boring assignment and get photos that I liked too.
Fall in Utah is my favorite season. It gets cold enough to wear sweaters and jackets, but it isn't all wet and freezing yet. Perfect skateboarding weather too.

Matty Coles x SLUG Mag

I'm a little late with the post, but the October issue of SLUG Magazine has dropped and it has an editorial piece I did with Matty Coles. We had a blast shooting this piece. Matty and I got dirty and made spots out of nearly nothing. This was some of the sketchiest stuff to skate. Matty had some pretty good things to say. Go pick up an issue or go to SLUG's site and read the story HERE.
I have included shots that didn't make the article due space constraints...enjoy.

Frontside nosegrind pop out.

360 flip into the hill.

Junk blunt to fakie.
Nose pick.
We made a gap over the concrete with a sketchy landing full of cracks. I included three angles to get a better idea of how gnar this was.

Derek

Derek is an SLC 9th and 9th local. I don't even know his last name. Frontside flips in the dark are pretty gnar. His boy Titus got the footy to prove it.

UVU Magazine: Fall 2009

The new UVU Magazine came out last week. I have a handful of photos in it, but these are the two main shots.
Jackson Howard is 83 years old. He is still practicing law in Utah. He was late for our shoot because he had just been a 10 mile bike ride. He was great.
Bob Clark was the Physical Plant Manager at UVU for the last 40 years. He just retired. Basically he was in charge of the entire campus, and all the facilities.
