Rabbit Ears Motel
I'm always photographing motel signs that I think are cool, and I always tell my wife that I want to stay in one them. Of course she thinks they are creepy and gross...which might be true in most cases. I finally stayed in one, and the Rabbit Ears was great. I highly recommend it if you are ever in Steamboat.

I suppose you shouldn't shoot through a windshield at f/22. I didn't have time to adjust my exposure for the depth of field, as the scene before me was passing by at 75 mph. I am actually okay with all the junk on the windshield, along with the flare.
This is in Colorado somewhere between Steamboat and Vernal.

Desert Noises
Desert Noises are dropping their debut EP this Saturday night at Velour. Everyone should go check out the show and buy their EP. "For fans of Band of Horses and Fleet Foxes", is how their label, Northplatterecords.com, describes them.
I got my copy of their EP today, and it is good. I happened to shoot the album art as well. The diarama was made by an artist named Jess Smiley (jess-smiley.com). He did he layout too. It was pretty fun to shoot. I love the centaur on the back cover--he is burying a horse's head. Weird.Saturday, January 24, 2009

Steamboat Springs
I spent the weekend in Steamboat Springs, CO photographing the Q Club's snowboarding trip. We had good powder and bluebird skies the whole weekend. I shot this while we were taking a rest...we went out of bounds and ended up in a bowl, which was followed by an hour long hike out. The powder and trees were worth it.
More from the trip to come.

Brodie Penrod in Slug Magazine
I have been shooting with Brodie for about the last six months. This month's issue of SLUG Magazine has a write up and a few photos that I did with Brodie. He is an amazing skater--every time I shoot with him he blows my mind. Due to space restraints, SLUG only ran a few images in the print mag, but they posted more on the web. I wanted to post almost all of them here. You can check out the article and the rest of the mag here:
