Swing Arm City - Caineville, UT

These are some shots that I did for a story on off-roading near Caineville, Utah. The area where open off-roading is permitted has been made significantly smaller. Environmentalists have been pushing the Bureau of Land Management to close down the area completely to off road vehicles. I found a hundred people enjoying the otherwise empty, desolate desert.
This is known as Swing Arm City. North Caineville Mesa can be seen in the distance.

Factory Butte, which lies outside the open riding area.

Polaroid Lifts and Transfers

This was an experiment. I tried transferring onto an old book cover. The paper wasn't really made to get wet. The emulsion ended up tearing up the paper with the lift. Interesting results. (My scanner was having issues focusing on the image, thus making it a bit soft).
This one I tried on the outside cover. This was the best result I got. The funny thing is the only part of the emulsion that actually stuck was the dark piece in the corner. It is more like an emulsion stamp than an emulsion transfer.

Deardorff 4x5 transfer
Condiments...transferMiles Colton in his living room. Emulsion lift.

San Francisco

I have been lacking in posts for the past couple of months. I am going to try to be better about that. I went to San Francisco last week and visited a number of photographers and studios. I had a great time and took a lot of photos. Here is one...more to come.
