...
I believe all of these images have been previously posted. However, I felt it was important to show them as a whole, including an artist statement, to give the viewer more understanding (and hopefully appreciation) of the body of work as a whole.
I have put a lot of time and energy into this project, and I welcome any honest
feedback/critique/commentary.
Thank you.
Weston

Lady Speed Stick 24/7 Advertising Campaign
This week Jessica Heiner and I shot an ad campaign for Lady Speed Stick 24/7 deodorant. We are in an advertising class together, and were lucky enough to be in the same group for the ad campaign project. The other three people in our group were Ari Alius, Callie Russell, and Travis Meidell. We worked as a team to come up with a campaign for a seemingly boring product. The slogan and strategy we came up with is "Release the power in you." Here are the ads we came up with, and then executed for the campaign.
The first three are print ads for magazines. These are all our original photos, with the exception of the deodorant stick, and the locker room guys.

These last two are for an out of home ad to be placed in subways. The concept is a sequence of images of a girl running. As the train passes the images, the girl appears to be running past the train, thus equaling super human speed. The angle starts out so you see the girl from the front, as if you are ahead of her on the train. They progress until you see the girl's back, giving the illusion that she ran past you on the train.
And an illustration of how it would appear in the subway. (Subway photo used for educational purposes only; we didn't shoot it).
Thank you to all our models for helping with the shoots, and the rest of our group for getting this project done.

Los Angeles...from a moving vehicle
I made a last minute, very quick trip to Los Angeles this last weekend. I drove down Friday night, did a shoot Saturday afternoon (that lasted about 20 minutes of actual shooting time), and flew home Saturday night. Being such a short trip, I only managed to get a handfull of photos, most of which were taken from a moving vehicle--either the truck or the plane.
